Practice makes perfect

No matter who you are, no matter the line of work you are into presently, you can triple your productive capacity if you beg right now to practice all you know how to do and halt practicing those things you know you should not do. Success doesn’t come just by practice; you must practice right and do the right things.

Even the Holy Book attest to it in 1Tim 4:14-16 saying, “Neglect not the gift that is in you which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; throw yourself into your tasks so that everyone will see your progress, then take heed to yourself and to the doctrine; continue in them; for in doing this, you shall both save yourself and them that hear you.

Furthermore, Dr John Maxwell also gave us four pillars of practice we should incorporate into our daily lives in order to succeed.

1.     GET A GOOD COACH: Have you ever heard or seen a person go ahead to operate a factory machine without ever been taken through its working mechanism by an individual who knows more? What do you think would happen to the person? He would definitely not progress and could ultimately harm him or herself. That’s why you need to learn and grow by associating with the right persons considering your line of work.

2.     YOUR BEST EFFORT: Are you practicing in a way, a time and a place that allows you to give your best? Are you giving yourself incentives? The Book of Life, points out to Paul’s motivation. He always had in mind that a “crown is being held for him”. That thought drives him to give his best. What’s your own drive?

3.     A CLEAR PURPOSE: Certainty is the word. Be certain about whatever you are trying to accomplish. There is a saying that “Effort without knowledge is like speed without direction. So, define what you want to do so as to make your efforts drive you safely to your desired destination.

4.     THE RIGHT RESOURCES: What working tools have you invested in to make or help you excel? Is it reading to brighten up your horizon, working according to a doctrine or following some set rules and regulations to guide you?
Get this straight today; you only play if you practice well. So, where are you on the practice continuum? Just started? On a level of rapid progress? Have you made your greatest gains? Knowing your position helps you to know what you need to do. Get practicing because PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT.
